Cranial 1 (C1): The Foundation Cranial Class
This four-day class is designed to introduce analytical and intuitive visionary understanding of craniosacral work, perhaps more appropriately described as Sacred Cranial, since it approaches the head with such reverence. It is the High Art of healing touch. The class emphasizes perceptual clarity, inner calm and right action, which form the context for our study of cranial anatomy and technique. Each half-day of the class is devoted to the study of a specific cranial bone, using natural disarticulated specimens, slides and hands-on work with a partner to deepen understanding. All practical work is under the constant supervision of the teacher and his or her assistants. The techniques presented for each bone are brought together in a basic technique protocol that health care practitioners may use as a basis with which to introduce cranial work to their own practices.
Cost: $850
Prerequisite: 150-hour massage training or other bodywork, or a license to touch profession including acupuncture, chiropractic, physical therapy
Class carries 32 CEU’s from NCBTMB

Cranial 2 (C2): Coupled Holds, Sacral Work & Unwinding
This four-day class is designed to broaden the scope of and deepen capabilities in Visionary Craniosacral Work, building upon the foundation of Cranial 1. Cranial 2 is structured to show new ways to harness perception and insight to tactile and communicative skills, and to show new ways to interact with the conscious medium that is the body.
The class begins by devoting a 2 days to studying supine approaches to the sacral and coxal bones. The third day is focused on the lateral bony structures of the cranium and introduces coupled and spanning contacts to both the head and the face. The last day are dedicated to understanding the concept, sensitivity to and practice of unwinding.
Cost: $850
Prerequisite: VCSW® C1 class

Cranial 3 (C3): Practitioner Skills: Sculpting the Conscious Medium
The “Practitioners Skills” are a combination of visionary, poetic, tactile and ceremonial ingredients that make up Visionary Craniosacral Work. Cranial 3 begins by interlacing meridian work and cranial work with a “Windows to the Sky” protocol. Windows To The Sky (WTTS) points are a series of acupressure or acupuncture points located on the upper arms, shoulders, chest, neck and cranial base that have been used since antiquity to help facilitate insight, flight to other realms, and the transition from sunlight to oceanic consciousness. They may also be used to help ease pain and discomfort. The use of WTTS points helps to refine touch, understand the energy body, and deepen intention.
Governor and Earth (GE) is a name for a short sequence of techniques that involve deeper pressures to help open ‘bottlenecks’ in the body, places where the craniosacral wave is not flowing freely. GE techniques are introduced in this class to help the student practitioner respond to characterological armoring, restricted-movement body defenses, and to help the return of chi and shen to the dreambody. This includes working with hara, ming men, inferior gluteal fold, vertebra, and the posterior suboccipital muscles. At this level GE work interfaces in an elegant way with the WTTS work that begins this class.

Cranial 4 (C4): Developing the Inner Eye
This class is devoted to developing the essential craniosacral skills of focus and perception. The inner-eye and inner-ear are harnessed to sensitive hands-on work with temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD), muscle contraction, migraine and cluster headaches. The first day begins with the study of psychometry in diagnosis, perception and visualization. On the second day students will study brain anatomy and physiology as related to headache and TMD. Temporomandibular joint approaches are investigated in detail. Students will then be taught to combine the intuitive reading of a model’s being with an assessment of the position, motility and energetic loading of their cranial architecture. The accuracy of their perception will then be assessed by following a cranial protocol with their model.
On the third and fourth days, students learn the meaning and “weight” of postures and gestures and how to apply intuitive diagnostic information to the invaluable rituals of shamanistic naming and use of totems. This combination of the perceptive, tactile and the experiential is what makes Visionary Craniosacral Work “The High Art.”
