Jennifer Iannucci, MSPT

With over 20 years of experience as an outpatient physical therapist, she has developed a unique style of treatment that blends traditional and alternative methods to facilitate healing and recovery.   When Jennifer learned to complement her treatment with alternative modalities, the outcomes were profound.

Jennifer’s professional career began at Burke Rehabilitation Center treating people recovering from neurological dysfunctions, amputations, orthopedic injuries and surgeries.  Through continuing education and teaching at New York Medical College, she expanded her knowledge of orthopedic injuries and integrated clinical experience with current academic knowledge.

When working in a private practice for over 10 years, Jennifer discovered an entirely new and innovative way of treating injuries.  Through the specific application of purposeful but light touch, she learned to acutely identify areas of dysfunction in the body.  Her perspective on injury and recovery shifted from a one faceted (musculosckeletal) to a multi-system approach (circulatory, neurological, lymphatic, digestive, somatic, energy flow).  As she looked beyond mechanical problems, she was able to help patients in ways she never before thought possible.

In 2011, Jennifer completed her certification in lymphatic drainage from the Norton School.  Learning the intricacies of the lymphatic system and effective management became an integral part of her work at the cancer center at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.

Jennifer decided to start her own practice and integrate with other like-minded health professionals to further effect a positive change in people’s lives.  It is her goal to use these skills to empower others to reach their greatest potential.  Self-empowered health can be transformational, effective and life changing.

Testimonials

In early 2011, I had to put my personal exercise training on hold due to a long-standing knee and back issue. The trainer suggested that perhaps it was time for me to consider an alternative solution beyond the traditional forms of physical therapy. She referred me to Jennifer Iannucci, a physical therapist at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. My trainer believed in a holistic approach to physical therapy and felt that Jen was well qualified to discover what was at the core of my chronic pain issues.

Since injuring my knee in a gym class in the early 80’s and other subsequent injuries, I worked with many physical therapists and chiropractors. It made sense to me to have a fresh perspective with a trained physical therapist who would go beyond the usual 30 minute session and look for a solution to my chronic problem. Our connection was cemented in the first session and I continue to see Jen periodically to help my body stay aligned and functioning without pain. I feel like I am floating on a cloud after our sessions.

My husband Steve sees Jen as well. He felt physical therapy would not help his serious back issue that was caused from a car accident. He’s a believer now and I am grateful to see that his pain is diminishing and he is regaining some mobility. I don’t hesitate to recommend Jennifer Iannucci and the great work she accomplishes.

By effectively combining conventional PT therapy with intuitive energy work, Jen provided me with a unique path to healing. Working with Jen was a great experience. Her easy going yet confident and straight forward manner enabled me to benefit from each appointment and also to incorporate what I learned into my everyday life.
— Kitty
My daughter suffers from chronic headaches and other issues and is seeing Jen regularly. The combination of physical therapy and craniosacral therapy has been very beneficial to my daughter. Jen is also able to connect well with her.

I am grateful for having found a physical therapist that is extraordinary in her focus on healing and wellness. Jennifer is an extremely gifted person who uses a holistic approach with her patients. Using a variety of techniques, she is able to assist in restoring positive energy, mobility, healing and wholeness. Her spirit is energetic and empowering for the patient. I would highly recommend her abilities to those in need of healing.
— Jane
I had tried physical therapy, chiropractors and acupuncture to heal a sports-related neck injury before being introduced to Jen. Where others failed she was able to restore my health and helped identify subtle lifestyle changes that were preventing me from healing fully. Though my needs may change from visit to visit, she is always in tune with my body and I look forward to her visits to help me through the little hurdles life throws my way.

Jen always makes you feel better, both physically and emotionally. Her calming techniques heal both inside and out:-)

Jen salvaged my strained and aching knees just in time for the golf season! Her deep understanding of the workings of the human body helped my inflamed joints (and my inner spirit) to calm down. I came away from each session, feeling much improved and very relieved that progress was made. My last session with Jen was 7 months ago, and I have been in great shape since then. Thank you, Jen!

I have had chronic back pain for 20+ years and when I started with Jen I immediately felt relief during a flare up. She taught me exercises to do to decrease the intensity of my pain. She was always positive and professional and I would recommend her to everyone!

After receiving physical therapy from several other physical therapists without improvement, I got treated by Jen and both my hip and hand have improved! She does a different type of PT that really works!
— MK
Jen is a unique physical therapist who thinks out of the box. She uses multiple modalities to achieve her result, which have been very good for me. She works well with other therapists, such as personal trainers and yoga instructors. By emphasizing a relaxation state, along with hands on therapy, she can achieve results that are beyond a typical physical therapist.

Jen is a friendly, professional and caring therapist. I wouldn’t go to anyone else with my running injuries! Her magic hands have healed me time and time again. She knows exactly how to get me back to the roads each and every time my body fails me.
— JJ
Jen helped me avoid back surgery when I herniated L2 and 3 after a fall. I also have scoliosis and am standing straighter since my visits to Jen. She is a miracle-worker!
— Judy
Having been to many different physical therapists throughout the years, I find that Jen takes a different approach to healing. Her holistic approach coupled with an extensive knowledge of the body allowed her to assess my situation and provide the proper treatment immediately. She is very attentive and provided me with a comprehensive at home program to continue strengthening areas of concern.
— Max
My six year old needed physical therapy, she was so afraid of the thought! Not only did Jen make her feel comfortable, my daughter asks to go back even today!” Highly recommend!
— Betsy and Campbell Ryan
I have been a patient of Jennifer for years and she is the only physical therapist that I would go to for care. Whether a bad back or knee her care is outstanding. She is a treasure.
— Noreen Mcnicholas
Jen’s unique and caring approach has provided better and quicker results for me compared to methods used by other physical therapists. Jen is a good listener, fully understanding a patient’s condition and spends quality time providing treatment. I recommend Jen without hesitation.

A few things I learned from Physical Therapy.....
Listening to your body’s cues.
NOT pushing yourself through pain because you may feel that it is “healthy”
Muscle soreness and constant pain are not the same.
Understanding that feeling your body correctly both nutritionally and spiritually can heal those uncomfortable aches and pains.

Jen has an amazing way of healing through traditional physical therapy methods and some “not so traditional” methods. Both working together to heal the entire body. Jen asks what your concerns are at each visit understanding that your problems one day could be very different than what she attended to and addressed the prior visit. Jen’s passion to help others is truly felt in her gentle ways and patience with her clients.
